About

I’m a 30-something guy, based in Southampton (UK) with a bad case of the running bug. Having not run competitively for 20 years I came back to running at the Great South Run 2012, finishing with a time of 1hr42 despite having a chronic injury. I followed that up with a 4hr07 first marathon at Brighton in 2013 and am now targeting completing my first Ultra-marathon at the 100km Carphone Warehouse Race to the Stones in July 2014 as well as two marathons this year

Along the way I’ve managed helped raise over the nearly £5,000 for various charities (Great Ormond Street, Justlife, CLIC Sargent) and will be running the Ultra Marathon to raise money for Get Connected who do fantastic work in supporting young people under 25 who have nowhere else to turn to.

This blog will be used to track my progress all the way to 100km (and maybe even beyond!). Feel free to follow/tweet/share!

  1. I headed over here after you liked one of my posts and thought I just had to follow you. Not only are you a fellow UK-ite, you are someone who has achieved everything in running that my knees would just not allow. Hoping to pick up some tips and enjoy your journey. 🙂
